Yeah - don't worry about website. You have PC pic and a little info (that is more than enough) - I just wanted to know people had seen the extra stuff.

RE Set-up I will need to put a lot of minis around me ;)

Re: Website & Set-Up by ConnorsConnors, 08 Jun 2012 04:47

No worries. I'm still working on getting the room set up again, as well as getting as much food/cooking prep done as I can, so that won't get in the way of the game, so I'm not rushing along with putting stuff on the website.

Just for your info re the rules, I've now got three copies of the Players' Rules, as well as 1 of the DM rules also, in case you wanted one of us to be looking up stuff for you.

Thanks Blair - I don't care whether you put stuff on here or not - I just wanted to know that people had read/seen it and could use it. Other than Shane, no one even posted "Yep, seen it. Thanks" or whatever in their forums. I have been completely in the dark until today (the day we play)?

Anyway, no need to rush to put on site (I won't be using the site tonight). I am just glad you have a chance to use the stuff in the game.

(I too have been trying to read the Rules, Adv, Beastiary, etc. In fact I will be relying upon you guys for some of the rules, as I have had to devour a lot).

…now back to creating PC relationships.

Sorry Connors. I know this is late, but I have been reading everything. Been reading through the Drellin's Ferry material and trying to figure out how I know the people you've mentioned. I've been at a loss to come up with something that makes sense to me though. I've got a few rough ideas sketched out finally, and even though it is tonight, I'll still try to write them up and get them onto the website this afternoon. I'll also be printing out the material to put with the character sheet during play.

For what it's worth, you may not feel it, but I think it is definitely worthwhile putting up the info as you did. My feeling though is that everyone is more caught up with reading through the rules, more so than the setting material. I hope so, at least. I know I am.

Actually, Sal and Chaddy HAVE tied their PCs to yours and Blair's on the PC Page. Thanks.

I was just hoping a little more banter would occur on the Forums. I don't even know whether people are reading anything. (A simple 'Thanks, I read this', on the individual Forums would have don.

Thanks for filling that in. ANy chance of a picture? (Even if you bring one a long, or have one in mind. Best way to show other players who you are).

I don't think anyone else is interested??? Still no activity on these forums other than you…and game is tonight. Quite depressing and annoying that I wasted my time doing individual PC Forums WITH STUFF IN THEM.

Anyway, thanks for trying Shane…

Re: PC Relationships by ConnorsConnors, 07 Jun 2012 23:30

My preference would be that we already at least know each other to speak to, regardless of whatever anyone else says, if anyone elses character has been in Drellins Ferry for more than a day or two then Pangold would have at gone out of his way to at least talk to them for a few minutes, and if they reside there then they would definitely know him.

Was hoping a player would initiatate and start this discussion. Anyway, I will.

Here is a place to discuss/post whether any of you start knowing each other. You may have long time relationships already going, you may have met in Drellins Ferry, you may already be an 'adventuring group', or a bunch of friends that have thought about it, or you may only be familiar with each other (having seen each other around DF), OR you may be starangers.

I have no preferences either way. Whatever suits you guys is fine by me. But would like things like this sorted before the game.

Wow. Cool.
I didn't expect an individual account of all, but thanks. I like them and appreciate the effort.

I mainly did this to help inspire some BG info for the PC Page and to kickstart any roleplaying when we start. This gives you a head start I guess :)

Brother Derny: Earned his trust by simply smiling and joking when getting disciplined by Derny, Derny because of his inherent charitable nature was simply unable to resist the friendship shown him by Pangold.
Iormel: Pangold knew that Iormel was stubborn but also knew that there must be some reason and so took it upon himself to become his friend and simply kept turning up everyday to Imorel's house to see if he needed anything. Iormel is stubborn, Pangold was more stubborn and eventually he broke down the old man.
Hasanak: Pangold sees much more than just the cheesemaker and a lerry dwarf. He sees the subtle and understated humour that the dwarf uses everyday. Pangold just likes the dwarf, likes his humour and feels comfortable in his presence.
Brottin: Pangold knows that Brottin has a drinking problem, something that the guard has confided in him. Pangold is trying to help him in any way he can.

1. One of the Red Hand (an alliance of goblinoid tribes in the Wyrmsmokes) leaders is a sensuous female hobgoblin that controls the weather and has a whip that cracks like thunder.
2. Thasalak’s ring is woven giant hair and it grants him the strength of giants. He told you himself this was true.

1. That Halfling wizard Sertieran is creepy. I heard he has taken corpses from the graveyard.
2. If you are seeking black market items see the cheese maker Hasanak – he seems to get a lot of visits from shady characters (including Halflings) when they come to town.
3. A new power has shifted into the ravine known as the Caves of Chaos (north of the Keep on the Borderlands) and has the occupants raiding frequently along Wiseman’s Way.

Rumours & Lore Known by ConnorsConnors, 05 Jun 2012 05:52

1. These goblinoids raiders are not just on a raid – they intend to wipe out the whole Vale!
2. A murderer still lurks in the town. Whilst a merchant was locked up for the murders of 710 N.F and 714 N.F another similar murder occurred earlier this year. They have locked up an innocent man.
3. That Halfling wizard Sertieran is creepy. I heard he has taken corpses from the graveyard.
4. The town council is considering building a new bridge over the river, but the ferry operators have opposed such an action.
5. A spirit stone is what is drawing all the humanoids to somewhere near the Keep on the Borderlands. It is wishing to be discovered and removed.

1. A medusa rules over the tribes of goblinoids of the southern Wyrmsmokes that are resonsible for the latest raids on Wiseman's Run.
2. Thasalak (the crazy fisherdwarf) has a ring is woven giant hair and it grants him the strength of giants.
3. A great alliance of the tribes is underway in the Wyrmsmokes known as The Red Hand and it is supported by giants, dragons and who knows what else.
4. Orcs from the Thornwaste have made their home near the Keep on the Borderlands and have joined in the lootling and destruction.

Rumours & Lore Known by ConnorsConnors, 05 Jun 2012 05:43

1. Thasalak (the odd dwarf) was outcast from Red Rock for killing fellow miners.
2. The ravine that is said to be the home of the Caves of Chaos has drawn evil humanoids to it for centuries. Its walls are riddled with endless caves and tunnels.
3. A great alliance of the tribes is being undertaken in the ravine. It is the meeting place for the leaders of a great horde that will come from the Wyrmsmokes.
4. Don’t be taken by Jarett’s polite business manner, Ulysses the Halfling fisherman said that she confided in him that she had killed someone when she was younger…and enjoyed it.

1. Thasalak (the crazy dwarf) was outcast from Red Rock for killing fellow miners.
2. It is said a fragment of Gruumsh’s power lies within the ravine where the Caves of Chaos lie. Legends tell the rift opened during the Dawn War when Gruumsh’s blood (or piece of eye to whole eye) landed there.
3. The goblinoids of the Wyrmsmoke Mountains formed a horde in the past and were defeated.
4. A medusa rules over the tribes of the Caves of Chaos.
5. A Spirit Stone is what is actually drawing all the humanoids to the Caves of Chaos. It is wishing to be discovered and removed.
6. A great alliance of the tribes is being undertaken in the southern Wyrmsmokes. The Caves of Chaos are the meeting place for the leaders of a great horde that will come from the Wyrmsmokes.
7. A half-mad yong fellow that matches Vanna's description was in Drellins Ferry some months ago. As far as you know his madness led him to 'meet his master' in the Thronwaste. Local legends suggest he has gone to join the Ghostlord or possibly see the Chained Thunder Serpent. (Apparently there is a mad cult hoping to free Mual-Ta from its imprisonment).

Clearly the Caves of Chaos have already been of some interest to you and your questioning. Perhaps your sage contact helped you with some of this.

Rumours & Lore Known by ConnorsConnors, 05 Jun 2012 05:17

(Feel free to elaborate on these in your Background. See the Drellins Ferry page for some details).

Contacts

People you can rely on or have had positive dealings with. Prehaps they are relations, owe you a favour, family friends, or new aquaintances.

Sterrel the Provisioner: What did you do to get this guy on side? Bring in some 'cheap' gear? Catch a thief and returned the goods? In any case he appreciates your company in the store.
Iormel: Most dislike this wealthy old noble (and his hounds). What did you do to gain his favour? Maybe you helped him in some way, such as returning a lost hound…or providing him with important information. He seems to like gathering dirt on his fellow councillors in particular.
Rolfe Hamman: The town scribe. Another odd connection, but that is what being a good sneak is about - knowing the right people. Rolfe is good with glyphs and symbols, so perhaps you sought his advice regarding a magical trap? Perhaps you brought him information or even a book on such things?

Antagonists

People you have had run-ins with and where relations are not so coridal for one reason or another.
Jarett: This lady does not like you in her store and you think it has more to do with you being a halfling? Is it b/c you know there is something evil and twisted about her and she suspects you know something?
Gausler: What have you done to upset the amiable half-orc brewer? The possibilities are many.
Captain of the Watch - Soranna Anitah: How did you get her on side. For someone that is very strict, she seems to adore you mischieviousness. Something must have happened to get her on side.

Contacts

People you can rely on or have had positive dealings with. Prehaps they are relations, owe you a favour, family friends, or new aquaintances.

Brother Derny: You are currently serving as one of his accolytes at present. He has been your mentor since you arrived. You can see through his pompous and preachy attitude and recognise a dear old man that has a charitable heart. What did you do to gain his favour?
Iormel: Most dislike this wealthy old noble (and his hounds). What did you do to gain his favour? Maybe you helped him in some way, such as by healing one of his precious hounds?
Hasanak: An odd connection to be sure. Is there more to this dwarf, or do you just really like his cheese?
Brottin: A young member of the town guard. Perhaps he owes you a favour? Maybe you caught him doing wrong, but promised to help turn his life around in exchange for not dobbing him in to his rather strict superior.

Antagonists

People you have had run-ins with and where relations are not so coridal for one reason or another.

None. :)
